Raymond Chandler is one of my favourite writers, simply because he bought the beloved crime noir hero, Detective Phillip Marlowe to life. He is to grimy Crime Noir, what Sergio Leone is to Spagetti Westerns, what Jodi Piccoult is to emo chick-lit.
